At Polo & Tweed we offer two types of training: private, in situ staff training and group or private classes. We work with the domestic staff of clients and the domestic staff of hotels. In this clip, CEO Lucy Challenger gives us some insight into the Polo & Tweed training service offerings.

We offer two types of domestic staff training at Polo & Tweed. The first is when a client comes to us and says, “We’ve had a housekeeper for many years. She’s fantastic, but we’re getting a new wardrobe designed and we need a little bit of finesse or polish in that area.” So at that point we can send a trainer into the home, into the mansion, into the client’s preferred location, and do the training in situ.

We are very sensitive with the way we conduct our training. It’s very important for us to be respectful of the situation that the staff is in. We give them the guidance that they need and offer the support that fosters a comfortable learning experience.

Similarly, hotels may contact us and say, “We have a team of butlers and we need them to have a bit more experience in silver service. So could you come and help us with that?” That’s absolutely something we can do.

The private in situ (one to one) training is very popular, as is our group, private classes, and we also run group silver service training and housekeeping courses. These domestic helper training sessions take place in London and around the world, and they run over weekends. On the weekends a student can come along and learn the art of silver service. So it’s a really exciting process to go through, and at the end of it they come out with a host of new skills and a great certificate to improve their CV and enhance their career.
